Your data
Privacy Policy
Effective 27 August 2026
Ironquill is published by Arrakis Studios. This policy explains what information the iPhone app handles, why it is needed and what choices you have.
No account is required. Your story progress stays as app data on your device. Ironquill does not contain advertising, collect product analytics or track you across apps or websites.
1. Information kept on your device
Ironquill stores the following as app data on your iPhone:
- automatically saved progress and completion history for each adventure;
- gameplay state needed to continue an adventure; and
- settings such as sound and haptics.
This information is not uploaded to an Arrakis Studios account or server. It may be included in a device backup managed by your operating system or Apple, depending on your backup settings. You can remove an adventure's current progress with Reset Adventure. Deleting Ironquill removes its local app data from that device, subject to any backup retained by Apple.
2. Purchases and crash diagnostics
Ironquill uses a small number of service providers to sell optional content and help us fix crashes.
| Service | Information | Why it is used |
|---|---|---|
| Apple App Store | Purchase and payment information handled by Apple | To process the one-time purchase and any refund |
| RevenueCat | An anonymous app user identifier and purchase history for The Blood Amulet | To verify, unlock and restore the purchase |
| Sentry | Crash stacks, exception type, app version and build, loaded-module or debug-symbol metadata, and limited technical adventure, node, encounter and error identifiers | To find and fix crashes and technical faults |
Apple processes payments. Arrakis Studios does not receive your card or bank details. Ironquill does not give RevenueCat your name, email address, Apple ID, saves, story text, inventory or concealed roll results.
Before a diagnostic event is sent to Sentry, Ironquill removes user, request and device contexts, story text, save data, inventory, concealed rolls, screenshots, view hierarchy, URLs, headers, breadcrumbs and frame variables. Sentry's network service may process connection information needed to receive the report; the Ironquill project is configured to scrub IP addresses.
Support messages
If you contact support, Arrakis Studios receives the email address you use, your message and any technical details you include. We use them to reply, investigate the problem and keep a record of how it was resolved. Please do not send story text, concealed roll results or anything else we do not need.
3. What Ironquill does not do
- No account, login or user profile.
- No collection of your name, email address, contacts, photos, microphone, precise location or advertising identifier by the app.
- No product analytics in this version of Ironquill.
- No advertising and no tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
- No sale of personal information and no sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising.
4. Why this information is processed
Purchase information is processed to provide and restore content you buy. Crash and diagnostic information is processed to operate, secure and improve the reliability of Ironquill. Support correspondence is processed to answer your request and resolve the issue you report. Where UK or EU data-protection law applies, these activities rely on performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in maintaining a reliable app and providing support, and compliance with legal obligations where required.
5. Service providers
Information is disclosed only to providers needed for the purposes above, or when required by law. Their handling of information is also governed by their own policies:
6. How long information is kept
- On-device app data remains until you reset the relevant adventure, clear it through an available in-app control, or delete the app. A device backup may persist under Apple's settings and retention rules.
- Purchase records are kept by Apple and RevenueCat for as long as needed to verify or restore the purchase, handle refunds and disputes, prevent fraud, and meet financial or legal obligations.
- Crash and diagnostic reports are kept in Sentry only for the configured operational retention period and are then deleted. Reports are not attached to an Ironquill account because the app has no account system.
- Support correspondence is kept only while needed to answer the request, maintain a reasonable support record, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations.
Retention may be extended when needed to resolve a dispute, meet a legal requirement or protect the service from fraud. Apple, RevenueCat, Sentry and the provider of our support mailbox apply their own documented retention and deletion practices to information they control.
7. Your choices and rights
You can reset adventure progress in the app and can remove all local Ironquill data from a device by deleting the app. You can manage device backups in your Apple settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal information, or to object to certain processing. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office.
Because Ironquill has no account and does not receive your identity from RevenueCat or Sentry, we may need technical details such as the approximate date, app build or purchase status to determine whether a provider record can be found. Apple controls App Store payment records; requests about those records should be made to Apple.
8. Security
Ironquill limits the information sent off your device, uses encrypted network connections provided by iOS and its service providers, and filters diagnostic events before transmission. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, but we use safeguards appropriate to the limited information processed.
9. International processing
Apple, RevenueCat and Sentry may process information outside your country. Where required, the provider or Arrakis Studios uses recognised safeguards for international transfers, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
10. Children
Ironquill is not directed to children and is not designated as a Kids app. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a support request, contact us so it can be addressed.
11. Changes to this policy
If Ironquill's data practices change, this policy and the effective date above will be updated. A material change will be explained in the app or on this site before it takes effect where required.
12. Contact
Questions, privacy requests or complaints can be sent to Arrakis Studios through the Ironquill support page.
